FULL WEEK IMMERSION COURSE
For those who are already familiar with electronic music production and wish to enhance and fine tune their technique and skills in an inspiring environment:
- Daily classroom lessons with a certified trainer in fully equipped production labs (32hrs in total)
- Daily morning/afternoon activity ranging from: studio visits, subject-specific workshops, artist lectures, guest talks from industry experts
- Opportunity to perform in the helloLIVE closing party in one of Berlin’s clubs
- Group music making activities
- Accommodation (single) in a centrally located Berlin-loft
- Breakfast and lunch meals provided

INTENSIVE 3 DAY COURSE
A subject-specific intensive course for those who wish for a deeper knowledge of a particular skill in electronic music production:
- Daily classroom lessons on a specific topic (click here for dates and topics) with a certified trainer in fully equipped production labs (12hrs in total)
- Daily morning/afternoon activity ranging from: studio visits, artist lectures, group music making activities
- Opportunity to perform in the helloLIVE closing party in one of Berlin’s clubs
- Accommodation (single) in a centrally located Berlin-loft
- Breakfast and lunch meals provided

A DAY IN A LIFE OF A STUDENT
Morning
You wake up in the cabin of a cool Berlin loft and have breakfast with your fellow students. You travel to the dBs labs at Friedrichshain to participate in the daily classroom lessons and learn how to perfect your skills as a producer with an Ableton certified trainer for 4hrs.
Afternoon
After lunch you are taken to Riverside studios in Kreuzberg and attend one of its resident artist’s lecture, or meet one the people behind your favourite DAW at the Ableton HQ in Mitte, or visit the Funkhaus studio complex and learn how to integrate your laptop workflow in a professional recording studio
Evening
Spend time in the loft communal area and apply the production skills learned during the day to your music. Collaborate on new tunes with the other participants and have the chance to ask questions or clear your doubts with a tutor who will be on standby.
Night
Explore the city nightlife: Bar-hopping in Kreuzberg/Neukölln and listen to local DJs, dance (or wait in line to be judged!) in the infamous Berlin club(s) or stay in and make some music. Sleep after working and playing hard and another intense day will start! On the last day perform on the closing party.

dBs Music EMP Lab
dBs Music is a private school specialising in electronic music production and music technology in Berlin. We have the opportunity to use their Electronic Music Production Labs (EMP), which is an acoustically treated teaching & performance space with 16 production stations, 4 boxy-labs and a powerful PA system. It’s essentially a ‘play-room’ packed full of gear from synthesisers to controllers, microphones and instruments. A perfect space to learn and produce music.
Riverside Studios
Riverside Studios is a unique collective of renowned artists and professionals located in Berlin’s Media Spree, neighbouring most of the industry’s leaders. It spans over 1200m² with 20 state-of-the-art studios, and offers A to Z solutions to professionals by professionals, meeting all of the industry needs: from recording, mixing, mastering, songwriting camps, seminars, master classes to artist consultancy, all via an unprecedented creative platform.
Funkhaus (dBs Berlin studios)
The Funkhaus Berlin has a unique history. Prior to the fall of the wall it was the main broadcasting house of the GDR with 3500 employees, two orchestras and state of the art recording studios. It still holds the largest studio complex in the world and its studios are used by many internationally acclaimed producers and engineers. The numerous recording spaces range from the 1000m2 concert hall, which can host a symphony orchestra all the way down to a telephone booth.
Loft
The Loft is a space that combines private zones with communal areas like a small village does. Ten small wooden cabins structure the space and provide areas of retreat and communicative interspaces. Living, eating and hanging out together unleashes creative potential. It is located in the Kreuzberg/Neukölln border which is famous for its bustling, vibrant streets and lively nightlife.
